Lay the Draw Revisited Intermediate

Lay the Draw Revisited Intermediate Guide Part One

So before I start I want to dispel a myth. There is no possible way to set up full cover for a LTDR trade, if there was you would be able to set up risk free trades.

No we have got that out of the way let’s look at the ways we can recover the trade if it’s 0-0 at half time and their problems.
Lay the 0-0 score line to get something back if a goal is scored. This is very expensive with the 0-0 at half time being well over 4.0 in the vast majority of games. Let’s say you try and recover £10 this will cost you over £30 if you get it wrong.

Lay the draw to get something back if a goal is scored. This is slightly better but the draw price can still be over 3.0 in certain matches, although most of the time it will be below 2.7.

Use the bore draw. This has become the preferred method by laying at 1.5 and 1.25 you are not upping your risk that much and quite often you will have a decent recovery position on one goal. The downside is that if you get a goal before the 1.5 price hits you have missed your chance to recover.

Use the 2d halfer. This for a long time was my preferred way to recover as at least we will be open from the start of the 2nd half.
I’m not going to debate which of these is right or wrong that’s a topic for another section of the Academy.
The problem with all of them is that they will cost you more money to open them. On the dreaded 0-0 you are going to be looking at a sizeable loss. So what we have to look at is how you can set up cover and little or even no cost.
Introducing the Safe Scalp

In the advanced section I will teach you how to do this interactively but for now I want to give you simple rules as to when to enter the market and stakes used. I will be writing a lot more about the safe scalp in the scalping section of the Academy.
Setting up Cover on the 1.5 market
Ok so what we are going to do is get some free or low cost cover on the 1.5 market for you to do with as you please. I will cover options you have for it once you get it in another section of the Academy, for now I want to teach you all how to get it. We will be doing this by using the safe scalp.

LTDR Trading from the start of the game
So this first section is all about trading the LTDR revisited from the beginning and it is really simple to use.
Opening Trade – Lay the draw for you normal stakes. For ease let us say those stakes are £20
Opening Cover option – Back under 1.5 goals for ¼ to ½ your stakes. The less you use the more profit you will have from the early goal but the less cover you will get on the 1.5.
On ten minutes - If it 0-0 lay the under 1.5 goals for the same stake, so if you backed for £10 then you lay for £10. What this does is leave all your profit on the unders side of the market. Do not green up the market.
On 35 minutes - If it is 0-0 back under 1.5 goals for your full LTD stake, so if you have layed the draw for £20 then you back under 1.5 for £20.

What happens on an early goal?

So the idea of this is that you will still have a profit after an early goal. Below is a screenshot on a game where I did not act quick enough and got caught just as I was about to come out

As you can see I still have a profit in place. I let the market settle a little bit more in this one and actually greened up the draw for just over £12 profit.

Steve Tip
If you want to ensure a profit then use a 1/4 stake rather than a 1/2 stake. Personally if I get caught I am not overly bothered at taking a scratch or a very low loss so I tend to use £8 to £10 stakes dependant on how likely I see and early goal happening.
What Happens on a Late Goal?

Unfortunately I do not have a screenshot of what happen but what I can tell you is that if you have some green from the first 10 mins the most you will often lose is half your stake. Your green from the LTDR will always cover that on a goal after 35 mins.
Why would you use this?

From experience in watching a lot of football and studying stats, the likelihood of a goal before 10 minutes and between 35 and 45 is far outweighed by the likelihood of a goal between 10 and 35. The beauty of using this method is that we get a full 25 minutes in the market when we can make a full profit, while all the time building up free money on the 1.5 market to use for recovery.

If you watch back video one you will see I ran up £10 free on the under 1.5 in ten minutes and then I greened for £14.92 after the goal (I could have also greened the 1.5 for 56p as well.
If you watch video two you will see I managed to get over £18 on the 1.5 market for a failed trade.

LTDR Trading from mid game
I almost did not right this as not to insult your intelligence. Let’s say you have chosen to open a trade on 20 mins we obviously have not got any free 1.5 from the first ten minutes. You can still open the second 1.5 part on 35 minutes. You can also use the same stakes, as your entry price would have been lower your profit would be higher so again it will more than cover your red on the 1.5 market. I will delve into the a bit more in part two.

Practice
As ever low stakes are the key to start with but by all means give it a go.

Final Thoughts
So there you have it your beginning methods to starting to scalp the markets and get some cover for the dreaded 0-0 at half time.
In part two we will delve into some of the other staking options you can do on this and cover some of the pitfalls. In addition we will start to look at trading this more interactively dependant on what you see and what stats tell you.
In part three will look at the steps we need to make before we move onto the advanced section.
Good Luck
