BTTS BEGINNERS GUIDE
BTTS Beginners Guide
As with all the beginners sections on the Academy this will only be a short section. This is just designed to get you used to using the system, the real power of the trade comes in the intermediate and advanced sections when we introduce the scalps and in play cover options you have to dynamically trade the system.
In this section we have two trades, the BTTS Pro high and BTTS Pro low, in the intermediate guide I will bring in the combo and start to explore your in-play options a lot more.
A Different Set Up
So for both of these trades I want you to set up your staking in a slightly different way. This is mainly to avoid you having to do any heavy scalping in the game.
The document advises you to dutch the 2-1, 1-2, 3-1 and 1-3 for your target stake, for the academy I want you to split you starting stake on the target scores into two parts and then look at your cover bet as a different option.
Target Score Staking
Ok so your stake will be ¾ on the 2-1, 1-2, 3-1 and 1-3 and ¼ of your stake (maybe slightly less) on the 1-1 and 2-2. What is important is that 1-1 and 2-2 profit covers your other scores stake.
Example
Dutch the target scores for £15 and then dutch the 1-1 and 2-2 for £5.

Usually if I set my target scores up for £15 then my staking on the 1-1 and 2-2 will be between £4 and £6. As long as it shows some green on the 1-1 and 2-2 you are fine. This way at 1-1 or 2-1 / 1-2 you will always be able to take a green figure on the correct scores no matter what time of the game.
The BTTS High Beginners Trade
So first of all set up your target score trade as above. As this is the high version though we are looking to cover the 4.5 goals market. The minimum you want on it is £10 more than your starting stake; the maximum is the same as your target scores & your total risk on the correct scores. This will mean that you will never lose on a game that has more than 4.5 goals. Furthermore you will always have greening options while ever the game features a BTTS score line and is under 4.5 goals.
Example

This was taken a little way into the game, but I put £30 cover on from the start to give me my minimum required cover on the 4.5 goals.
Using the dutch example picture then to give me my maximum cover I would have layed the 4.5 for £70.
BTTS High In Play
So there is little we do now until a goal goes in, for the beginners section we are not going to do anything fancy at all. The rules after a goal are exactly same as the document; you back the draw for your desired profit but remember now we have something on the 1-1 and the 2-2, so you don’t have to back the draw for as much.
Steve’s tip – Quite often I simply dutch the 1-1 and 2-2 so all my markets are in one place.
Example Video One
The BTTS Low Beginners Trade
I actually would not advise you use this very often as it is high risk. The reverse side is that you will have a lot of small losses and wins but sometimes you will cop for the big loss. It also gives you great cover on the dreaded 0-0 score line. The intermediate section will cover this as to use it properly you will need to scalp.
To set it up you use the normal target score set up but this time we have our cover on the BTTS, so we lay BTTS yes for our desired recovery stake. The stake you use on this is half your dutch stake up to your full dutch stake plus £10. My advice is not to go beyond your dutch stake. This will still give you a profit on a target score while only giving you a small loss on BTTS no.
Example

So on this example I did the standard set up of mine of laying BTTS yes for my dutch stake. In these games I often put a bit more on the 1-1 and 2-2 but more on that in the intermediate section
BTTS Low In Play
So there is little we do now until a goal goes in, for the beginners section we are not going to do anything fancy at all. The rules after a goal are exactly same as the document; you back the draw for your desired profit but remember now we have something on the 1-1 and the 2-2, so you don’t have to back the draw for as much.

So on this example I simply added a £4 dutch of the 1-1 and 2-2. So I was setting myself up for a £4 overall loss if Hull did not score unless we got the dreaded goal fest.
BTTS Beginners Conclusion
So there you have it the very basic way to set up the two types of trades. In the intermediate we will delve into scalping and in play cover options. We will also introduce you to the two calculators we have developed to help you set up combo trades and give you in play cover options
